As of today, it’s been one hell of a year so far and last year was just as bad. I do believe we are finally headed in the right direction when it comes to COVID-19 and the number of cases in the United States. I don’t know about you, but I have literally become used to going to work and coming straight home. Sometimes, I’ll go to the grocery store or gas station but mainly work and home.

I guess I could use this past year as an excuse, and I’m sure I probably have used it as an excuse to eat more of what I want to eat and slack on my exercise. I have a home gym in my garage set up with weights, boxing bags, dumbbells, battle ropes, etc. There is no ready why I can’t get a great workout every day, but I really miss going to the gym and it’s just not the same at home. I’m hoping to start going back to the gym soon since they have start lifting the restrictions on wearing masks in the gym in my area.

We all lose control at some point or another and let ourselves go for a while. The question is, if you have let yourself go, how long are you going to continue before hoping back on the wagon? As the old saying goes “day one or one day”. I love that quote because I can restart today or I can just keep thinking one day I will start again.

If you need a boost, start listening to motivational speakers like David Goggins. I love his videos because he is straight and to the point. He is a person that was once 300 pounds and lost a lot of weight and now runs 24 hours marathons and holds records for most pull ups done in a 24 hours period, etc. People like that really inspire me to get back in the swing of things. One thing that really gets my motivation going is any kind of boxing whether it’s watching a boxing movie or just watching the old mike Tyson knockout videos on YouTube.

Either way, if you are reading to get back on the wagon, JUST DO IT. It might be a rocky road for the next few weeks but once you get the routine going again, it will be back like it never left.
